We provide recommended protocols that have been tested
in the Keck Microarray Resource for use with Keck cDNA and
oligonucleotide based arrays. Methods for probe preparation and
labeling, hybridization and washing are outlined. The protocols have
been adapted over six years from those initially found on the web
and communicated via other researchers who are working with arrays.
They have been optimized for use with the cDNA based and oligo
arrays produced in the core. We have tested the protocols using
human, mouse and rat cultured cell RNA and therefore cannot guarantee that they
will generate optimum results in other systems or using arrays from
other sources. Rather, they are provided as a starting point. We ask
for as much feedback as possible from investigators regarding
protocols used.
