Labeling and Hybridization Services

Labeling and hybridization of RNA samples for gene expression analysis are done by using Genisphere Dendrimer technology.

Hybridizations of the arrays performed on ether Advalytix SlideBooster Autohyb Instrument or BioMicro MAUI hybridization stations. The ArrayBooster works on the principle of Surface Accoustic Wave technology to actively mix the liquid evenly over the array. The MAUI Hybridization Systems are also designed for highly reproducible hybridization conditions with controlled temperature and active mixing to provide high sensitivity and specificity hybridization results.

Scanning of the arrays performed on Axon GenePix 4200 laser confocal scanner. All .tiff images are 16 bit and can be analyzed using academic software (e.g. Scanalyze) and commercially available analysis packages (e.g. Axon GenePix Pro, Quantarray, etc).

Non-Yale investigators may print, complete and FAX the Microarray Sample Submission Form. Please be sure to complete all PI and billing information. A User ID for YMD "Simple Menu" distribution of .tiff images will be sent to you by e-mail.

Slides should be sent in carefully packed slide mailers via overnight mail (Keck not responsible for slide breakages or loss) to:

Attn: Irina Tikhonova , Keck Microarray Resource at Yale, 300 George Street, Rm 2110, New Haven, CT 06511. Telephone (203) 785-5209.

Enter any special scanning needs, such as fixed PMT values or non-standard fluorophore requirements, in the box provided on the submission sheet.

Statistical analysis of data is provided by the Keck Biostatistics Resource employing commercial softwares such as GeneSpring and a full range of academic softwares, algorithms and approaches on a cost recovery basis. Please contact Amy Lin for more details.
