Gene Expression

Gene Expression Analysis on NimbleGen arrays allows to determine differentially expressed genes and map transcription activity with prokaryotic or eukaryotic whole-genome expression analysis.

Gene Expression Services

Gene expression microarray service consists of the following steps:

  1. Customer selects catalog array design, or works with Roche NimbleGen bioinformatics scientists to design a custom array. Customers purchase catalog arrays or custom arrays from NimbleGen. NimbleGen arrays are synthesized on standard-sized glass microscope slides, compatible with many microarray scanners.
  2. Customer supplies RNA. To ensure sufficient sample for quality control analysis as well as optimum hybridization, we require the following amounts of total RNA or mRNA:

    Total RNA
    mRNA
    Eukaryote
    20μg
    5μg
    Prokaryotes
    30μg
    -
    RNA concentration
    >1.0μg/μl
    >0.1μg/μl
  3. For optimal cDNA generation, use of high quality RNA is requered. Please follow our instructions for sample submission.
  4. Keck Microarray Core performs RNA labeling, hybridization, scans the array and extracts the data.
