MassARRAY® iPLEX Gold application provides SNP Genotyping for moderate to high-throughput(primary fine mapping) and validation studies and for routine applications that employ fixed SNP panels. Assays can be multiplexed up to 40 SNPs in one individual reaction.
iPLEX Gold is the most cost effective assay format for many fine mapping studies.
Keck Microarray Core offers full SNP genotyping services based on Sequenom MassArray technology. Please refer to the Sample Submission for the recommendations.
Applications for iPLEX Genotyping
- Follow up of whole genome association studies
- Mutation Detection
- Allelotyping of pooled samples
- Disease association studies
- Copy number variance analysis
- Loss of heterozygosity analysis
- Viral load quantification
- Microbial detection
The MassARRAY® Designer software can automatically design both PCR and MassEXTEND®
primers for multiplexed assays. Sequence information can be imported from public databases and the primer design sequence will be automatically transferred into an oligonucleotide requisition form for primer ordering.
MassEXTEND® is a primer extension process designed to detect sequence differences at the single nucleotide level. The iPLEX® Gold assay uses a single termination mix and universal reaction conditions for all SNPs. The primer is extended, dependent upon the template sequence, resulting in an allele-specific difference in mass between extension products. This mass difference allows the data analysis software to differentiate between SNP alleles.
