Characterization of Synthetic Peptides

Synthetic peptides are characterized routinely by matrix assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) and analytical reverse phase HPLC analysis of an approximately 1 mg/ml "working solution" of the crude or purified peptide pool that is made by dissolving an aliquot of the lyopholized peptide in 50% acetonitrile, 0.05% TFA.
